Design Process

Stephanie, owner of Wild Violets Landscape Design, prefers to meet potential clients in person for a property walk during our first consultation. We spend time in the space while I ask questions about how you currently use and would like to use your yard, your style preferences, and more. The fee for this initial consultation is $50, payable at time of the appointment booking. 

At the end of this initial meeting, a design fee is quoted based on the size of your property and scope of your project. If you are agreeable to the fee and we mutually agree to work together, half of the design fee, less your $50 consultation fee already paid, is required to begin.   

When your design is complete in 1-2 weeks, you will have a custom drawn-to-scale bird's-eye plan of your landscape, with all existing relevant structures present, plus suggested new plants and features. The presentation meeting includes a plant list, photo examples and conversation to help you conceptualize your new landscape. The remainder of the design fee is due at this time.   

What if I need more help? 

If you were referred to Wild Violets Landscape Design by a contractor, we will provide them a copy of your approved design so they can prepare your estimate for installation.

If you are interested in DIY, Wild Violets Landscape Design can provide an estimate for delivery of plants, soil amendments, edging, mulch and other materials needed to create your project as drawn. Additional on-site planting instruction and consulting is available on an hourly fee basis. We also can provide referrals to our qualified contractor partners for complete installation.

Steph has presented talks and workshops on various gardening topics to both adults and children and would love to speak or teach a workshop about planty things with your Garden Club, 4-H Club, Parenting Group, Friend Group, Preschool or Elementary Class.
